Atlético de Madrid to open football academy in Kazakhstan
Atlético de Madrid has signed an agreement to open a football academy in Kazakhstan in the fall of 2025. The club has committed to providing strategic support and advanced football training methods for at least a decade.
The plan is to replicate the facilities the club has in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), which include a natural grass stadium, five artificial turf football fields, and other sports and training facilities with a capacity for more than 1,000 children.
The Kazakh ambassador to Spain, Danat Mussayev, has been quoted as saying that the project was initiated almost a year ago due to ‘a large demand and private initiative of companies’ to work in the Atlético de Madrid Academy with a ten-year outlook. Emilio Gutiérrez, director of the Atlético de Madrid Academy, has stated that this signing is part of the club’s expansion strategy in other countries and regions, making Kazakhstan a key point for the training of young people not only from this country but also from neighboring ones.
