Saudi Arabia interested in buying Atlético de Madrid
Atlético de Madrid has experienced significant growth in the last decade and has ambitious plans for the future, such as the construction of the City of Sports. According to ‘El Independiente’, Saudi Arabia could be one of the potential buyers of the red and white club if Gil Marín sells his stake.
The government of the wealthy country already sponsors Atlético through Riyadh Airlines and has expressed the option of holding future meetings. However, the intention of the club’s main shareholders is not to sell until the City of Sports becomes a reality, which could happen in two or three years. The value of the club is estimated at 750 million euros, a value that could increase by around 40% with the completion of the City of Sports.
