Atlético de Madrid faces sanction for incidents in the derby
Atlético de Madrid is facing a sanction of a total closure of its stadium for two weeks and a fine of 65,000 euros, proposed by Antiviolencia, following the incidents that occurred during the eighth round of the League derby.
The execution of the sanction will depend on the file that must be opened by the State Secretariat for Security of the Ministry of the Interior. The proposal of Antiviolencia will be transferred to this body for the initiation of the file, after which the club will be granted a period to present the allegations it deems appropriate.
Once these have been submitted and analyzed, it will be the State Secretariat itself that will dictate the resolution, which the club may appeal through the administrative route. The facts proposed for sanction include those carried out by a violent group of fans located in the lower south end of the stadium, who had been previously committed infractions typified in Law 19/2007, a circumstance communicated and known by the club.
