Atlético Madrid is facing possible sanctions after incidents occurred in the derby against Real Madrid. The Anti-Violence Committee has requested the closure of the Metropolitano for two weeks due to the throwing of lighters onto the pitch from one of the stands.

However, the club could face a second sanction because the same facts can have two legal consequences. The president of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, has stated that the sanction proposal is proportionate to the seriousness of the facts, but the club could appeal the decision.
