Uribes: 'The sanction against Atlético de Madrid is necessary, fair and proportionate'
The president of the Consejo Superior de Deportes, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, referred to the proposal of Antiviolencia to close the Metropolitano for two weeks.
Uribes highlighted that the sanction is necessary, fair and proportionate to the seriousness of the events that occurred in the derby, in which lighters were thrown at Courtois and a fine of 65,000 euros was imposed on Atlético de Madrid. Uribes insisted on the need to eradicate violence from stadiums and sports in general.
