Samu Omorodion, the Porto striker who arrived from the Atlético de Madrid
…Samu Omorodion has become one of the most fashionable strikers on the European scene. A few weeks ago he arrived at Porto from Atlético de Madrid, and in both the Portuguese team and Spain U21 he is making numbers within the reach of few elite goalscorers at the moment.
He has scored eleven goals in eight games so far, seven of them in Porto and four with the Spanish U21 team. Atlético de Madrid was forced to transfer him to balance its salary limit, and finally sold him to Porto for 15 million euros for 50% of his rights.
The Portuguese club has two purchase options to acquire 80% of the player for a total of 25 million euros. Meanwhile, Atlético de Madrid did not reserve any option to repurchase the player, but could benefit from a future sale of Samu Omorodion.
