Atlético de Madrid: reduced sanction for incidents in the derby
The Appeals Committee has reduced the sanction to Atlético de Madrid after fans threw lighters at Courtois in the capital derby, leaving the sanction of three games of closure of their fan section in just one.
This decision has not gone down well in Valencia, who last season saw their fan section closed for five games after some fans racially insulted Vinicius, Real Madrid player. The Valencian club sees a comparative grievance with what happened to them last season.
