Lola Gallardo, the in-form goalkeeper of Atlético de Madrid
Lola Gallardo, the goalkeeper of Atlético de Madrid, is in great form and is considered the most in-form goalkeeper in Spanish football at the moment. Her saves in the derby against Real Madrid gave the mattress team wings and now the question is whether her level will be enough for her to return to the Spanish national team.
Lola was one of the 14 players who led the revolt against Jorge Vilda and although many of her teammates did return to the Spanish national team, she has not received the call from the new coach of the national team, Monste Tomé. However, her coach at Atlético de Madrid, Víctor Martín, considers her the best goalkeeper in Spain and believes that her current performance is better than that of Cata Coll, Misa and Andrea Nanclares, the goalkeepers who are currently being called up by the Spanish national team.
