Uribes (CSD) defends 'necessary, fair and proportionate' sanction for Atlético de Madrid
The president of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, spoke out about the proposed sanction for Atlético de Madrid, which includes the closure of the Metropolitano stadium for 15 days due to incidents during the last derby against Real Madrid.
Uribes defended the severity of the proposal, which includes the total closure of the stadium for two weeks and a fine of 65,000 euros for the rojiblanco club. The politician emphasized the importance of eradicating violence from stadiums and sports in general, and described the sanction as ’necessary, fair and proportionate'.
