Uribes defends Metropolitano sanction as necessary and fair
The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, has defended the proposal for sanctioning the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium for the incidents of the last Madrid derby. Uribes has described the sanction as ’necessary, fair and proportionate'.
The executive has insisted that ’everyone must work very seriously and conscientiously to eradicate violence from stadiums and sports in general’. Uribes has also been asked about Valencia’s options as a venue for the 2030 World Cup and has assured that he will continue to speak with FIFA to consider Valencia as a venue.
