Aitor Karanka, former Real Madrid player, to watch over Atlético-Leipzig as UEFA 'inspector'
Aitor Karanka, former Real Madrid player and Spanish coach, will be the UEFA technical observer for the Atlético de Madrid-RB Leipzig match. Karanka has been a UEFA technical observer in the last two Eurocups and in the previous Champions Leagues.
The Spanish coach believes that the group of favorites for the title this year will remain the same, although some team could sneak into the fight, as happened last year with Borussia Dortmund. Karanka has had the opportunity to manage in England with Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City, in Spain with Granada and in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv. His next stop on a bench is currently a mystery.
