Leganés and Torres' Euro 2008 goal with Atlético
Next Sunday, Leganés will visit the Metropolitano to face Atlético de Madrid, a team that has historically had good results against the pepineros. The last time Lega visited the colchonero stadium was in 2017, when Atlético won 2-0 with a double from Fernando Torres.
One of those goals was similar to the one Torres scored in the Euro 2008 final against Germany, with an assist from Correa who dressed up as Xavi. Curiously, Leganés is a special team in Torres’ career, as it was against them that the forward debuted with Atlético in 2001, at the age of 17.
