Giménez upset by unfair yellow card in Atlético de Madrid's victory
Atlético de Madrid started their Champions League campaign with a victory in the first round thanks to a goal from José María Giménez in the 90th minute. However, the Uruguayan defender also received a yellow card that he considered unfair. Giménez complained about the Slovak referee Ivan Kružliak for not being able to establish a conversation with a colleague and for showing him an unnecessary yellow card.
