Makkelie to referee Atlético in Prague and Peljto to referee Barcelona in the visit of Brest
Dutch referee Danny Makkelie will be in charge of the Champions League match between Sparta Prague and Atlético Madrid. Makkelie, 41, has refereed the red and white team on five occasions in the top European competition, without the Atlético team winning in regular time.
The last precedents were a 2-0 defeat in Liverpool and a goalless draw against Bruges at the Metropolitano. Meanwhile, Bosnian referee Irfan Peljto, 40, will referee Barcelona for the second time in the tournament, after having done so previously in a visit to Shakhtar Donetsk last season, which ended in a 1-0 defeat.
