Barrios: 100 Matches of Red and White Passion
Pablo Barrios, a homegrown talent who has become a key player for Atlético de Madrid, is about to celebrate his 100th match in the red and white jersey this Saturday at the Metropolitano against Real Sociedad.
At just 21 years old, Barrios has played 73 matches in LaLiga, 14 in the Champions League, and 12 in the Copa del Rey, accumulating a total of 5,781 minutes, four goals, and six assists. Since his debut in Cádiz in October 2022, Barrios has demonstrated his worth on the field.
His first goal with the first team in the Copa del Rey against Arenteiro and his recent debut goal in LaLiga against Sevilla are fondly remembered. However, he still has one pending task: to score at the Metropolitano, and what better occasion than this special match to settle that debt.
In addition, Barrios dreams of lifting a title with Atlético, a wish he hopes to fulfill soon. Although he has already tasted glory by winning Gold at the Olympic Games, he longs for a trophy dressed in red and white.
At the club and in the locker room, he is considered the natural heir to Koke. His commitment to the club will be rewarded with a renewal until 2030, accompanied by a significant salary increase. A promising future for a player who embodies the spirit and determination of Atleti.
