Davide Massa, the Italian referee for Atlético-Leverkusen
Atlético de Madrid already knows the referee who will officiate their Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen. It will be the Italian Davide Massa, 43 years old and with international experience since 2014.
This will be the second time Massa has refereed the red and white team in an official match, after having done so in the group stage of the Champions League in a goalless draw against Club Brugge in the 2018-2019 season.
Massa has also refereed Bayer Leverkusen on several occasions, including a 0-4 win against Feyenoord this season. The refereeing team will be completed by the Italians Ciro Carbone and Stefano Alassio as line judges and Aleandro Di Paolo as VAR responsible.
