Cerezo: Optimism and Confidence in Atlético's Future
Enrique Cerezo, president of Atlético de Madrid, is optimistic and confident about the team’s future. In recent statements, Cerezo addressed FC Barcelona’s alleged interest in Julián Alvarez, the Rojiblanco forward.
With an ironic tone, Cerezo responded to the rumors about Laporta’s interest in the Argentine player, emphasizing that Alvarez is happy at Atlético de Madrid, where he is having his best season.
Furthermore, the Colchonero president was self-critical of the team’s performance in the final stretch of the season, especially in away games. He acknowledged that the away performance was not as expected, calling it a “disaster” and pointing out that there were ups and downs in the game.
Despite this, Cerezo remarked that the team is the same as at the beginning of the season and that, although the desired titles were not achieved, the goal of qualifying for the Champions League was achieved, thus securing a third place in the league. The president expressed his confidence in the project and in the team’s ability to continue improving and aspire to greater achievements in the future, keeping the ambition intact for the upcoming seasons.
