An unexpected nationwide blackout caused disruptions to Atlético de Madrid’s planning. Among those affected were players such as Julián Álvarez, De Paul, Molina, Llorente, Gallagher, and Riquelme. Despite traveling to Naples, Simeone managed to return in time to supervise the training.
Given the widespread situation and following the recommendations of the authorities, the club decided that the training session would be held behind closed doors, thus avoiding unnecessary travel for the media.
The Madrid City Council activated its Municipal Emergency Plan, prioritizing the rescue of people trapped in elevators and the closure of tunnels such as those on the M30 due to traffic chaos.
Despite the setback, Atlético de Madrid remains focused on its next objective: the match against Alavés on Saturday in Mendizorroza. It is expected that in Tuesday’s training session, scheduled for 11 a.m., the team will be able to work fully and normally, refining the preparation for this important league match.
