Argentine Atléticos, Straight to the Club World Cup
Atlético de Madrid is preparing to face an intense end to the season with LaLiga and the imminent Club World Cup in the United States. However, several key players of the team will not enjoy the well-deserved rest between competitions due to their international commitments.
The AFA has called up five Atlético players for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Chile and Colombia. Names like Rodrigo de Paul, Nahuel Molina, Giuliano Simeone, Ángel Correa and Julián Álvarez will have to join the Argentine national team immediately after the end of the league season.
This means they will have hardly any time to recharge their batteries before joining Atlético for the preparation of the Club World Cup. Argentina, already qualified for the 2026 World Cup and the undisputed leader of the qualifiers, will face Chile on June 5 and Colombia on June 10.
The lack of rest for these rojiblancos players poses an additional challenge for the coaching staff, who will have to manage fatigue and ensure their optimal performance both with the national team and in the Club World Cup. The fans are confident that, despite the difficulties, the players will arrive in top form to represent Atlético with pride at the world event.
