Atlético Madrid are preparing to face Salzburg in their last game of the Champions League group stage. Simeone’s team depends on themselves to secure their place in the Top-8 of the competition.
If they win, they will achieve it, but if they draw or lose, their qualification to the round of 16 could be complicated. Salzburg is the opposite of the red and whites in this Champions League, as they are the third to last in the group and have no chance of qualifying.
In the last training session, Simeone insisted on a lineup with Llorente in one flank and Azpilicueta in the other, Lenglet back with Le Normand, Koke alongside De Paul and a variation in the attack: Sorloth alongside Grizi. Salzburg is a vulnerable team at the back, but they have talented players in the three-quarter zone like Capaldo, Gloukh and Nene.
