Atleti Fine-Tunes the Machine for the Club World Cup
Cholo Simeone is already hard at work, preparing Atlético de Madrid for the exciting challenge of the Club World Cup. After a small setback with his return flight, the Argentinian coach wasted no time and led his first training session with an eye on the United States.
Despite the absence of eleven key international players, called up by their national teams (Oblak, Molina, Giménez, Lenglet, Le Normand, De Paul, Gallagher, Giuliano, Correa, Sorloth and Julián Alvarez), Cholo’s competitive spirit remains unaffected.
With a Rojiblanca youth academy brimming with talent and young promises eager to prove their worth, Simeone did not hesitate to put together a starting eleven of circumstances to begin working on the team’s strategy.
Carlos Martín, now recovered, joined the training sessions, forming part of that initial eleven that Simeone tested. Names like Musso, Llorente, Witsel, Reinildo, Azpilicueta, Riquelme, Koke, Barrios, Lino and Griezmann were also present, demonstrating the team’s commitment and dedication.
The coach made several rotations during the session, seeking the best possible combination to face the challenges ahead. The Rojiblanca youth academy is more alive than ever, with young players like Gomis, Esquivel and Boñar, among many others, looking to earn a place on the final list of 35 players who will represent Atleti at the Club World Cup. The Metropolitano dreams of seeing its team lift the trophy!
