Surprising Lineup: Gallagher on the Attack
Atlético de Madrid is preparing to face Real Sociedad with a lineup that could surprise more than one. In the training session in Majadahonda, Cholo Simeone tested a starting eleven with some interesting tactical novelties.
The absence of Julián Álvarez, sanctioned, forced the coach to look for alternatives, and everything indicates that Gallagher could have a more offensive role than usual.
During training, a possible 5-4-1 formation was seen with Oblak in goal; Giuliano, Marcos Llorente, Le Normand, Lenglet, and Javi Galán in defense; De Paul, Koke, Gallagher, and Lino in midfield; and Sorloth as the only striker.
However, the inclusion of Pablo Barrios in place of Koke is not ruled out, although the former exercised at a slower pace than his teammates. The main novelty is the position of Gallagher, who could play closer to the area, supporting Sorloth.
Simeone seems to want to take advantage of the player’s arrival and good finishing, seeking to surprise the rival defense. Lino would occupy the left wing, providing speed and overflow. Griezmann, on the other hand, would start the game from the bench. The Colchoneros are looking for a key victory at the Metropolitano against an always complicated rival. Come on, Atleti!
