Atlético Madrid close in on LaLiga lead
Atlético Madrid have reduced the gap with FC Barcelona to just three points in just four games, after having a ten-point deficit in the 11th round of the championship. Simeone’s team is in control of its own destiny to win LaLiga, as Barcelona has one more game due to their participation in the Spanish Super Cup.
In addition, Atlético will visit Montjuìc in two weeks to face the Catalan team, in what could be a key duel. However, both coach Diego Pablo Simeone and star Antoine Griezmann prefer to maintain the line of game by game and not add pressure to an already complicated task.
