Berterame: From Atleti to Rayados, a rising star!
Germán Berterame, an Argentinian talent with a Mexican passport, is shining brightly with Rayados de Monterrey. Formed in Atlético San Luis, the Colchoneros’ affiliate in Mexico, his potential caught the attention of Atlético de Madrid.
Although not officially announced, Berterame trained in Majadahonda, wearing the red and white colors. Ultimately, Rayados acquired his services in the summer of 2022, paying nine million dollars.
His performance has been outstanding, so much so that in the past winter market, the Portland Timbers of MLS offered 15 million dollars, a proposal that Rayados rejected. This decision generated some controversy, as Atlético de Madrid hoped to obtain economic benefits from a possible sale.
According to reports, Atlético allegedly tried to influence Berterame not to be called up by the Mexican national team, hoping for an opportunity with the Albiceleste, which could further increase his value.
However, Rayados is betting on keeping him, confident that his price will continue to rise. Berterame is undoubtedly a player to watch closely, with a promising future and a past linked to Atleti.
