'Asadito Mecánico': Argentine Soul at Atleti
Atlético de Madrid, affectionately nicknamed ‘Asadito Mecánico’ for its strong Argentine presence, has become a fundamental pillar for the Argentine National Team.
Despite Musso’s absence in this call-up, up to five Rojiblancos players are currently concentrated with the ‘Albiceleste’: Molina, De Paul, Julián Álvarez, Correa and Giuliano, the latter consolidated as an indisputable starter at Atleti and earning a place in the national team.
These internationals arrive at the national team after a demanding schedule with Atlético, facing rivals such as Real Madrid and Barcelona on multiple occasions, in addition to a tough match against Athletic. The wear and tear has been considerable, but the passion and commitment remain intact.
