Atlético de Madrid aims to reconnect with La Liga against Mallorca
Three days after their match in Salzburg and three days before facing Getafe in the Copa, Atlético de Madrid needs to get back on the winning track in La Liga after only earning one point from their last six games.
Simeone’s team, which is no longer the winter champion, has Real Madrid four points ahead. Winning against Mallorca is a way to re-present their candidacy in a match that is the prelude to the league derby at the Bernabéu.
Simeone has had little time to work with his players and the starting lineup is a mystery, although it is known that De Paul will not play and Barrios will return after serving a one-game suspension. Lenglet will also return to the defense after serving a suspension against Villarreal. The lineup that Simeone could field is: Oblak; Llorente, Giménez, Lenglet, Azpilicueta; Giuliano, Barrios, Koke, Gallagher; Griezmann and Sorloth.
