Gabi Dreams of Coaching Atleti in the Future
Gabi Fernández, former Rojiblancos captain and current coach, has expressed his desire to coach Atlético de Madrid in the future. In a recent interview, Gabi reviewed his career and ambitions, highlighting the impact that Atleti has had on his career.
Currently in charge of Real Zaragoza, Gabi revealed that he had the opportunity to join the Maño club previously, but declined the offer as he did not perceive a clear objective at that time. His experience as a player and captain has provided him with the necessary tools to face this challenge. Remembering his time as a player, Gabi praised several coaches who marked him, including Cholo. He highlighted his leadership and his ability to transmit his passion and convince his players.
Gabi seeks to emulate these qualities in his own coaching career. While focusing on his present at Real Zaragoza, Gabi does not hide his desire to coach those teams that have been important in his life, including Atlético de Madrid. He states that coaching Atleti is a dream, but prefers to concentrate on the present, putting all his energy into his current team. His dream of returning to the Metropolitano as a coach remains alive.
