Colchonero Passion: Unconditional Support at the Bernabéu
Atlético de Madrid fans once again demonstrated their unwavering support for the team in the derby held at the Bernabéu. Despite the numerical superiority of the locals, the 3,800 Colchonero supporters made themselves known, even silencing the rival stadium at various points during the match.
From the start of the match, the Rojiblanca fans made their presence felt, overshadowing the local anthem with the chanting of the Atleti anthem, as if they were at the Metropolitano.
After Real Madrid’s opening goal, far from being discouraged, the Colchonero fans were the first to encourage the players, chanting the now-mythical “this fanbase will never leave you, in good times or bad.” Julián Álvarez’s goal was a moment of ecstasy for the visiting fans.
For several minutes, the Bernabéu was silenced, flooded by the chants and fervor of the Atleti supporters. An example of the unconditional support that characterizes this fanbase.
Despite the blows of the match and being behind on the scoreboard, the fans never stopped cheering, demonstrating their commitment and passion for the Rojiblancos colors until the end. After the final whistle, and as is customary in away matches in European competitions, the fans remained in their seats following police instructions, proud to have represented Atleti with the passion that characterizes them.
