Simeone Refreshes Atlético's Lineup with Surprises and New Faces
Diego Pablo Simeone, coach of Atlético de Madrid, presented a starting lineup with several surprises for the match against Real Mallorca at the Metropolitano. The main novelty was the absence of Antoine Griezmann in the starting eleven, who rested after his standout performance in the Champions League against RB Salzburg.
The absence of Azpilicueta and De Paul was also notable, although in the latter’s case it was due to injury. Among the surprises, the inclusion of Reinildo Mandava in defense, the return of Pablo Barrios after serving his suspension, and the pairing of Alexander Sorloth with Julián Álvarez in attack stood out.
