Atlético de Madrid drives transformation of Aquatic Center into a multifunctional space
Atlético de Madrid, in collaboration with Live Nation and Oak View, has created the company Barsento SL to rebuild the unfinished Aquatic Center of Madrid.
The initiative, presented to the Madrid City Council, aims to transform the building adjacent to the colchonero stadium into an iconic and multifunctional facility that integrates culture, education, sports, and leisure.
The Aquatic Center, located next to the Metropolitano stadium, will benefit from the urban modification approved by the City Council, which allows uses such as hotels, offices, and leisure activities.
The main idea is to convert the venue into a multipurpose pavilion for concerts and other events, meeting a need in Madrid for medium-sized concert spaces beyond the Movistar Arena. This initiative adds to other Atlético projects in the area, such as the construction of the City of Sports, consolidating urban development around the Metropolitano.
