García Verdura, the referee who will decide Julian Alvarez's future in the derby
Atlético de Madrid will face Mallorca this Saturday with Catalan referee Víctor García Verdura in charge. This will be the third match he will referee for the mattress team, and the one that will decide if Julian Alvarez can play in the derby against Real Madrid on February 8.
The Argentine striker is one yellow card away from suspension after receiving his fourth in the last match, and if he is booked in the match against Mallorca he will not be able to play in the Bernabéu. Le Normand and Koke are also one yellow card away from suspension. Atlético have won the two previous matches with García Verdura as referee, while Mallorca has never lost in six matches with him.
