The Superación Cup: Atlético de Madrid's celebration of inclusive football
The Atlético de Madrid Foundation celebrated the third edition of the Superación Cup, the inclusive football tournament in which eight teams participated. The event was held in collaboration with Fundación LaCaixa and Logista, and aimed to promote values such as solidarity, commitment and overcoming.
In addition to the Atlético de Madrid teams, representatives of Valencia CF Inclusivo, Granada CF Genuine, Colegio María Corredentora, Fundación Querer and schools of the rojiblanca foundation such as Valencia de Alcántara, Alcalá de Henares, Arganda del Rey and Orcasitas participated.
The day ended with an emotional awarding of medals and trophies to the participants. The Atlético de Madrid Foundation has as one of its fundamental pillars the use of football as a tool for social change and has 10 schools in Spain for players with intellectual disabilities, special needs, autism, Down syndrome and at risk of social exclusion.
