Historic Investment for La Rosaleda: A Boost for Málaga
The remodeling project of La Rosaleda is moving forward steadily, establishing itself as a tangible reality for Málaga and its fans. With an investment exceeding 271 million euros, this ambitious initiative seeks to transform the stadium into a top-tier venue, preparing it to host matches of the 2030 World Cup.
The investment is close to what was made in the Metropolitano. The City Council of Málaga is leading this process, managing the hiring, execution, and supervision of the works, with the support of the Junta de Andalucía and the Provincial Council.
The ‘La Rosaleda 2030’ project contemplates the creation of a stadium with a capacity of 45,000 spectators, meeting FIFA standards. The improvements include the demolition of adjacent structures, the reorganization of the stadium’s surroundings, and the construction of a bridge-plaza over the Guadalmedina to facilitate access and evacuation.
In addition, new areas for fans will be enabled, and the athletics stadium will be conditioned so that Málaga CF can play their matches there during the works. The financing is divided among the three institutions involved, thus guaranteeing the long-term viability of the project. With this boost, La Rosaleda is preparing for a bright future, consolidating itself as a symbol of pride for the city and its fans.
