Atlético Fan Clubs Challenge UEFA Video of Champions League Penalty

2025-04-11 Marca

The International Union of Atlético de Madrid Fan Clubs has commissioned an expert report on the UEFA video showing Julián Álvarez’s alleged double touch in the Champions League round of 16 penalty. The aim is to clarify the controversial refereeing decision that harmed Atleti.

The report, carried out by Laboratorio de Informática Forense Europeo, cybersecurity experts, casts doubt on the authenticity of the video.

According to José Luis Rivas, one of the experts, the study reveals that “the video delivered by UEFA is not an original video obtained from a camera.” Visual cloning, alterations in the image sequence, and a total absence of sound content were identified.

The expert emphasizes the objectivity of the analysis, highlighting that they are based on technical evidence, beyond football affiliations. Rivas explains that they analyzed metadata (which was deleted), entropy (which was incoherent), and the existence of copied frames.

The absence of audio is another piece of evidence that adds to the conclusion that the video was edited. The report does not determine whether Julián Álvarez hit the ball twice, but focuses on the authenticity of the video.

The results of the expert analysis are clear: the UEFA video is not original and has been edited, which fuels the controversy and the feeling of injustice among the red and white fans. This independent analysis seeks to defend the interests of the club and its fans, ensuring that justice is done in this controversial episode.
