Giráldez confident of causing an upset at the Metropolitano
Celta’s coach, Claudio Giráldez, has expressed confidence that his team can cause an upset at the Metropolitano against Atlético de Madrid. Giráldez acknowledges the difficulty of the challenge, as Atlético is showing a great level and competing in all competitions with a very marked identity, in addition to having a top-level squad and a great coach.
However, the Celta coach is optimistic and assures that his team is prepared to compete and be faithful to their playing style, as he considers it the best way to defeat the Rojiblancos. Giráldez recalled the first leg, where he believes Celta was close to victory.
He stressed the need to improve certain details, as against a team of Atlético’s caliber, any mistake is costly. In addition, he praised the mental strength and competitiveness that Diego Pablo Simeone has instilled in the Colchoneros team, as well as the individual quality of their attacking players.
He believes that Atlético has the ability to win any match, regardless of whether they dominate it or not, and that they have a squad that allows them to resolve matches with individual actions from their attackers. Despite the respect for the rival, Giráldez is confident in Celta’s possibilities of obtaining a positive result at the Metropolitano.
