The presentation, carried out through an exclusive event and a video shared on social media, has generated great excitement among fans. The video features Zapater, a Spanish player for Atlético Ottawa, passionately recalling that Atlético de Madrid team and the Simeone goal he witnessed at La Romareda.
The new jersey, with a retro design, evokes the essence of Atlético de Madrid’s 1995/96 kit. It features the classic red and white stripes, a commemorative ‘Double’ patch, and chevron details on the sleeves.
On their website, Atlético Ottawa declares that the jersey features a retro design that includes a blank space on the back for the name and number. From Canada, this tribute is a beautiful recognition of the legend of Atlético de Madrid and the legacy of players like Simeone, Pantic, Solozabal, Kiko, Toni, and Caminero.
