Galán Returns to Training and Joins Squad to Face Getafe
Atlético de Madrid receives positive news with Javi Galán’s return to first-team training. The defender from Extremadura, who was recovering from an ankle sprain sustained two weeks ago, rejoined the group on Monday.
His coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, confirmed that Galán will be included in the squad for the match against Getafe, although the final decision on the 22-man squad for the Copa del Rey will be made the following day.
This injury had kept him out of the team since the Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen. With Galán’s return, Atlético de Madrid will have all players available to face Getafe at the Metropolitano Stadium, in a key match for a place in the Copa del Rey semifinals.
