Atlético Talent: Four Academy Players to UEFA Tournament
Great news for the Atlético academy! Four young promises from Atlético de Madrid have been called up by the Spanish U-16 national team to play in the prestigious UEFA Development Tournament, which will be held in Benidorm and La Nucía from April 22 to 27.
The players chosen to represent Atleti and Spain are Rubén Gómez, Ian Mencía, Abdou Kemo, and Luis Navarro, four names that already resonate strongly in the Colchoneros’ academy. Rubén Gómez has even had the opportunity to train with the first team, demonstrating his enormous potential.
Ian Mencía, for his part, won the title of ‘MVP’ in an international youth tournament in Miami, while Abdou Kemo recently signed his first professional contract with the club. Atlético de Madrid is one of the clubs that contributes the most players to the national team, only surpassed by Barcelona and Real Madrid. Spain will face Austria, Turkey, and Belgium in the group stage of the tournament, with the hope of lifting the title with the help of Atlético talent.
