Miguel De las Cuevas: A Grateful Farewell After 17 Years
Footballer Miguel de las Cuevas has announced his retirement from professional football, coinciding with the 17th anniversary of his debut in La Liga with Atlético de Madrid.
Throughout his career, De las Cuevas has played over 500 matches and scored goals in every professional category of Spanish football, from La Liga to the current Segunda Federación.
In an emotional farewell letter, the player from Alicante thanked his family, coaches, teammates, and the clubs that accompanied him on his journey, such as Atlético de Madrid, where he made his debut in La Liga and the Champions League.
He also highlighted his time at Hércules, Sporting de Gijón, Osasuna, Spezia Calcio, Córdoba, and Orihuela, among others. ‘I leave having played over 500 games, but the most important thing is the people I carry with me,’ De las Cuevas concluded, ending a career full of passion and dedication.
