Atlético sub-19 bids farewell to group stage with a thrashing of Slovan
Atlético de Madrid sub-19 said goodbye to the group stage of the Youth League with a resounding 5-0 victory over Slovan de Bratislava in Alcalá de Henares. Sergio Esteban was the star of the match with a hat-trick.
Omar Janneh opened the scoring and Tomanek, in his own net, made it 2-0 before the break. The team led by Luis Bueno showed its superiority from the start of the match and finished the phase with 11 points out of 18 possible, being the team with the best ‘goal-average’ in its group. Atlético qualified for the round of 16 and will know their opponent on December 20.
