Atlético de Madrid Accuses Real Madrid of Pressuring Referees
Atlético de Madrid has pointed out Real Madrid for using their official television to pressure referees, in a message posted on their X account titled ‘Basic Instructions’ for the derby.
In a graphic with text and drawings, the red-and-white club mocks the rival’s preparation, including a point referring to ‘using your official television, once again, to pressure referees’.
This message arises in the context of the formal complaint filed by Real Madrid with the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Higher Council for Sports, after the defeat against RCD Espanyol on February 1.
Atlético had previously questioned the nuances of verbs like ‘pressure’ and ‘coerce’ in a message to the RAE. With LaLiga leadership at stake, the derby between the two teams will be played this Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu.
