Atlético de Madrid fans outraged by LaLiga photomontage
LaLiga decided to create a 2024 recap video of Vinicius Junior’s highlights, but used a photomontage in which the Real Madrid player celebrated a goal in another match. The image was taken from the last match between Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid in Montjuic, in which Sorloth scored in the final play of the match.
The photo was edited to remove the Norwegian and replace him with Vinicius. This caused outrage among Atlético de Madrid fans, leading to LaLiga removing the video from their YouTube channel. The International Union of Atlético de Madrid Fan Clubs and the Atlético de Madrid Senate have strongly protested against this decision, demanding immediate explanations and rectifications from La Liga.
