The Metropolitano prepares to host one of the largest ice rinks in Europe
Atlético de Madrid is preparing to host one of the largest ice rinks in Europe at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. The rink, called Madrid On Ice, will have a surface area of 4,760 square meters and will be able to accommodate up to 1,500 people at a time.
The opening will take place on Saturday, January 21, coinciding with the match against Barcelona. Óscar Mayo, general manager of Revenue and Operations for Atlético de Madrid, explained that the idea came up after the match against Getafe and that the project is very ambitious and will look spectacular. In addition to the ice rink, there will be musical performances, food trucks, and Christmas stalls. The event is expected to attract around 200,000 visitors.
