Oblak, One Step Away From Historic Zamora
Our Jan Oblak is on the verge of making history! The Rojiblanco goalkeeper is very close to winning his sixth Zamora trophy, a milestone that would make him the goalkeeper with the most Zamoras in the history of La Liga, surpassing legends like Valdés and Ramallets.
After 35 matchdays, Oblak has conceded 29 goals, giving him a coefficient of 0.83 goals per game. Although his numbers have worsened slightly compared to previous matchdays, the performances of other trophy contenders, such as Courtois, have paved the way for him.
To secure the Zamora, Oblak must continue to perform at a high level in the remaining matches. The upcoming match against Betis at the Metropolitano will be crucial. Historically, Betis has not been an easy opponent for Atlético, especially at home, where they have only managed to score twice in the last eleven matches.
Despite the slight advantage he possesses, Oblak cannot be complacent. If he plays the remaining two matches, against Betis and Girona, the Slovenian would have to concede at least five goals between both matches to jeopardize his award. We are confident that Oblak will keep a clean sheet and celebrate a new Zamora with the Colchonero fans! Come on, Jan!
