Barrios: Colchoneros' Future Secured
Great news for the Rojiblancos family! Pablo Barrios, one of the jewels of our youth academy, has sealed his commitment to Atlético de Madrid until 2030. This talented midfielder, who arrived at our Academy in the 2017/18 season, has demonstrated impressive growth and has already accumulated over 100 games defending our colors.
At just 21 years old, Barrios has become a fundamental pillar of the team, thanks to his dedication, game vision and technical quality. His debut with the first team, under Simeone, took place in October 2022 against Cádiz, marking the beginning of a successful career.
Shortly after, he tasted the Champions League and celebrated his first goal in the Copa del Rey. Since then, the young midfielder has continued to add milestones, leaving his mark with four goals and seven assists.
In addition, his talent led him to conquer the gold medal with the Olympic Team in Paris 2024 and to debut with the senior national team in an exciting victory against Switzerland. At Atlético de Madrid we are delighted to have Barrios for many more years! His renewal is a commitment to the future and a source of pride for all Atléticos.
