Oblak, an ignored Rojiblanco legend!
Atlético fans can’t understand Jan Oblak’s absence from the ranking of the world’s best goalkeepers compiled by the CIES Football Observatory. The Slovenian, considered by many to be the best goalkeeper on the planet, does not appear on the list, which has generated great controversy among Atlético de Madrid fans.
Oblak, with a brilliant career at the Rojiblanco club, holds the record for the most clean sheets in LaLiga history and aspires to win his sixth Zamora trophy. Despite his impressive achievements and the fact that Atlético de Madrid is one of the least scored teams in the competition, the CIES statistical study has overlooked his performance.
The ranking is led by Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG), followed by Yann Sommer (Inter) and Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid). The inclusion of other goalkeepers is surprising, while the absence of Oblak, an undisputed reference between the sticks, is incomprehensible to the Atlético fans. His consistency, reflexes and security have made him a fundamental pillar of the team, and his exclusion in this type of list only highlights an injustice towards one of the great idols of the Metropolitano. Forza, Jan!
