Andrea Berta bids farewell to Atlético de Madrid
Italian sporting director Andrea Berta is in his final days at Atlético de Madrid. After more than eleven years at the club, his farewell has been in the works since Atlético hired Carlos Bucero as the new General Director of Football in January 2021.
For several weeks now, Atlético and Berta have been negotiating a severance package that could be resolved in the next two Christmas weeks. Berta’s imminent departure, backed by important market moves such as Oblak or Reinildo, will surely be desired by European giants such as Chelsea, Manchester or Juventus.
