The Metropolitano will roar in the 2027 Champions League Final!
Great news for the Red and White fans! The Metropolitano has been chosen as the venue for the 2027 Champions League final. Following the proposal presented in October, the Atlético de Madrid stadium prevailed over other candidates such as the Baku Olympic Stadium.
The confirmation came from the president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, during a visit to the works of La Cartuja. Louzán highlighted Spain’s ability to host major sporting events, also mentioning the Europa League final in San Mamés.
For Atlético, this designation represents a milestone, as it will be the second Champions League final to be played on its ground, after the unforgettable 2019 final between Liverpool and Tottenham.
This event not only consolidates the Metropolitano as a top-level international stadium, but also reaffirms Atlético de Madrid’s commitment to elite football.
On another note, Louzán also suggested the possibility of the Metropolitano ceding its place as a venue for the 2030 World Cup to Valencia, a generous gesture on the part of the Colchonero club. Without a doubt, the 2027 Champions League final will be a Red and White party that will resonate throughout Europe. Enjoy it, Atléticos!
