Arda Turan: A Colchonero Conquering Europe
Arda Turan’s promising career as a coach continues to rise. The former Atlético de Madrid player, at 38, has signed with Shakhtar Donetsk until 2027, a crucial step in his career on the sidelines.
After a remarkable spell in charge of Eyupspor, where he achieved promotion and a meritorious sixth place in the Turkish second division, Arda Turan takes the leap to a club with European aspirations.
His philosophy of attacking play and his strong personality, inspired by figures like Diego Simeone, have made him a coach with great potential. ‘I am proud to join Shakhtar, a great club with a rich history and strong traditions,’ Arda declared after the agreement.
‘It is a very recognized team throughout Europe, with the ambition to win every game. I hope to contribute to the club’s legacy and bring many moments of joy to our fans through our football. We have a strong desire to win titles, both in Ukraine and in European competitions’. Arda’s dream of winning a Champions League with Atlético de Madrid remains alive, but in the meantime, he continues to forge his path with passion and determination, carrying with him the Colchonero spirit.
