Passion for football is inherited, and at Atlético de Madrid, we know it well! The youth academies are nurtured by young talents who have football in their blood, sons of legends looking to forge their own path in the king of sports.
The case closest to our fans is that of the son of the legendary central defender João Miranda, who is proving his worth at Real Valladolid Promises, following in his father’s footsteps with determination and talent. But it is not the only example.
Throughout the Spanish football geography, we find sons of great players who try to stand out in the lower categories of various teams. At Real Madrid, for example, we find the sons of Reyes, Casillas, Courtois, and Marcelo, names that resonate in the memory of any fan.
Others, like the sons of Kluivert or Eto’o, seek their opportunity in the youth academies of Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano respectively, demonstrating that talent knows no borders. These young footballers have added pressure, the expectations generated by their parents’ legacy.
